Here's how you can help:

Let people know that communities are enriched by the inclusion of individuals with

Down syndrome and that Club 21 Learning and Resource Center is investing in the

potential and future of children with Down syndrome. Yep, it's as simple as that!
- Partner with us through eScrip

EScrip allows you to earn money for Club 21 without doing anything out of the

ordinary for you. All you have to do is is sign up with eScrip.com, register your

store loyalty cards, and when you shop, a portion of the proceeds will go to Club 21!

It really is that easy - just keep grocery shopping, and we'll be able to keep serving

children with Down syndrome. For more information check out their website!
- Become a "Friend of Club 21"

These past few years we have learned if we work together and pool our talents,

passions, and resources we can do some amazing things. Many people have

expressed an interest in helping with this center but don't have much time or are

afraid to tutor. We have the perfect job for you if you're that kind of person.

It would look like this: when a need arises, an email will be sent with the word NEED

in the subject line. (For example: NEED- Does anyone have a contact with a person

who could take pictures of our Open Play group this Saturday?) Then you

think...Hmm, you have a brother in law that has been dying to help the Down

syndrome community and is a talented photographer. You send us his name with

permission to contact him.

Another example: NEED- having an envelope stuffing party on Friday – if you are free

come…. We need you! If you already have plans you don’t have to worry about it.

The needs will vary and be just as diverse as our Club 21 community, but hey, isn’t

that part of the fun?

This is a wonderful simple way to support Club 21 and it’s efforts to help our kids…no

committees, no board member responsibilities, no meetings. If this sounds like the

perfect way for you to get involved, please send your email address to Kathy

If you have a business or organization (i.e., you teach yoga classes or you run a

dance studio) and you want to know more about how you can support the Down

syndrome community, we would love to help you find your place. Club 21 is all about

building partnerships with other organizations so that together we can transform the

lives of individuals with Down syndrome. For more information please contact Nancy

Volunteer
Volunteers are an essential part of our program. Without them we cannot succeed. Volunteers are our organizations greatest resource! There is a place for everyone at Club 21. We need volunteers every day in some capacity. Please look at our programs to the right and find one that you would like.
Even if you can only give one hour a week, we can still use you. Volunteers make the difference!

- Mod Pod: We are building a library of modified curriculum as well as addressing the modification needs of students currently enrolled in this program. We especially need volunteers who like to work on the computer. Volunteers trained in the process are then able to check what is needed to do and get started. Modified curriculum not only supports teachers, but also enables students to do the “same” work as their fellow classmates. Contact Kathy McDaniel for more information: kathy@clubtwentyone.org.
- Every Child A Reader: This program helps children with Down syndrome become better readers as they meet once a week, one-on-one with a teacher. Training and curriculum/resources will be supplied. This position does require a weekly commitment for a ten-week period. Contact Kathy McDaniel for more information: kathy@clubtwentyone.org.
- Afternoon Helper: Mondays through Wednesday from 3:00 to 5:00, volunteers are needed to tutor children, work in the Mod Pod, make books or other craft projects. Contact Kathy McDaniel for more information: kathy@clubtwentyone.org.
- Event support: This is for volunteers who are not able to help on a regular basis, but who are willing to help when we have special events like our workshops, conferences, Open House, or Walk-a-thon. This is a low commitment, no training required way to volunteer. Contact Kathy McDaniel for more information.kathy@clubtwentyone.org
- Open Play: Open Play needs support moms and dads who could give up one Friday morning a month to talk to other parents and play with other people’s kids (and bring their own if they want.) Training will be supplied. Contact Olivia Hinojosa for more information: olivia@clubtwentyone.org
