Club 21 believes that knowledge is powerful and can be life changing. Children with Down syndrome have only had access to general education classes since 1975. Consequently, many stereotypes, myths, and lack of information still permeate our educational systems and our society. Our vision is to eradicate the commonly held misconceptions and preconceived ideas regarding the capabilities of individuals with Down syndrome by providing current and accurate information and up-to-date research to parents and educators. Our conferences and workshops are designed to educate, encourage, and inspire both parents and educators to think in new and creative ways as they partner together on the journey of education, acceptance, and inclusion.
As part of our commitment to education, Club 21 will provide:
- On-going Sign Language Classes
- Down syndrome age specific and topic centered Workshops
- Monthly Literacy Nights - A night where we share literacy information and make high interest books for our children
- Provide Teacher Training in schools
- Host our annual Tools For the Journey Conference.
If you are on our mailing list, you will receive emails letting you know the current workshops we are providing. If you are not on our email list, please click here to sign up.

Join us for the 2010 Tools for the Journey Conference where you will learn valuable information about inclusion, the social and behavioral challenges that are common with children with
developmental disabilities and most importantly, strategies for helping our children be successful across all age groups and environments. The afternoon will provide an opportunity to break into age specific groups that will address issues and
concerns of each developmental stage.
