Discovery Days
Discovery Days is a chance for kids to do what they do best during the summer – play! – while also building literacy skills.  Each Discovery Days session allows students the joy of a field trip and the excitement of reading a book where they are the main character.

The sessions are each two weeks long; the first week is field trip week, and the second week is books and games week.  Parents are responsble for dropping students off at and picking them back up from the field trip location.  Each student will have their own one-on-one buddy for field trips and reading days.

Not only will students take home books and games created just for them based on digital images of their field trips, but parents also have the opportunity to learn how to make books using their digital cameras. This is an excellent tools that parents can use to help encourage literacy throughout their child's life.
